I am having a query that why the Leave Balance got debited from ystrdy,18th Jan 2023. In the month end of Dec I was having 11.86 leave on 31st. As it was a first year for me only 10 leaves would get carry forward so rounding up to 10. In Jan the leave of 1.67 got credited so in total 10+1.67=11.67 leave was there in Jan. I took a leave on 2nd Jan so now my leave balance must be 10.67. This was accurate till yesterday 17th Jan. But since ystrdy its showing 9. Please help me with a resolution

Currently on maternity leave from a small firm with no may leave benefits. Would love to become legal aid duty counsel to get better with life balance and mat leave benefits for kid #2. But I hear it's next to impossible to get a full time position except by starting on contract. Anyone in Toronto have any insight about becoming a family law duty counsel?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?
