I am honestly exhausted from networking calls. I have done 18 coffee chats since December and I am starting to repeat myself. Everyone says relationships matter, but I do not know how to stand out without sounding scripted. What did you do in conversations that actually led to meaningful support?

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Earlier today I was on a video conference call reviewing a Private Label Agreement template with a larger company who wishes to brand label products we develop and manufacture. We came to a very one-sided provision and my sales VP stated “for this one, how can we just say ‘hell no’ ...nicely?” The other person on the call said we can replace the wording with just NFW (no f@$* way) and I said “I will have to add that to the defined terms section so it’s clear”

I am 9 months pregnant and my firm offers 16 weeks maternity leave. Well, it just so happens that I was offered a job at a new firm, and they are flexible with start date but do not provide maternity leave (understandable since I don't even work there yet). Is it possible to accept the new job with a January start date, but not tell my current firm until a normal notice period ends, so I can keep mat leave? No payback requirements or anything. Would they know somehow?
