I am a Direct admit and have seen good collaboration because I approached it with collaborative mindset and with clearly accretive capability… been 4+ very good yrs of growth on all fronts! As long as you are clear on your accretive capabilities to offering and or a sector without overselling, hustle a bit, and have clear active sponsorship from hiring Partner you will do well.
I would say they have complicated the organization. In general the population of partners is very good and there are a number of very hard working supportive people but in general they tend to make things work despite the complexity that creeps into the structure. We will see how this plays out but the general disposition of the average line partner is this structure was over engineered at first look.
If you are a new admit Partner into PwC, you will have a hard time. Unless you can open up new non attest accounts, it’s sharp elbows at its best. Small playing field, faking it across most offerings. I would not.
I would ask for real numbers on the success rate of direct admits. How many that were hired in 2015 have made it to 10 years? I don’t know the answer but surely it exists.
