Why wouldn’t your share your expectation early? If they can’t meet it, you don’t want to waste your and their time. If you’re willing to accept their offer plus ~10% that you can negotiate up, then wait for the offer to negotiate. But if it’s significantly lower than you would accept, you’re wasting time.
You should always have expectation ready even if it’s a range. It also positions you with the relationship to the level you would come at.
If you have another call and they ask, you should have comp ready so they can calibrate the offer
Share you’re expectation early. It’s hard to negotiate once they give you the offer
Steps since I’ve finished the last interview. Should I be expected to now give them my comp expectations, if this is a positive call? Or should I wait for an offer from them first before saying anything?
Wait for the offer. Much easier to negotiate when you have the job in-hand.
