I am in Team A and I work for projects handled in Team B. A handles a completely different product than B. I have been strategically placed in A as I'm in a quality related role & they didn't want me be reporting to the same manager as the project team

Now my concern is, my manager at A doesn't have any insight about my role, or how I perform, or what kind of opportunities that can be given me
How do I politely convey this concern to him?

(He is a first time manager & I just joined recently)

Keep a living document of your accomplishments, demos help, expect to be in more meetings than the normal person. I’m in a similar situation, I am the liaison between a feature team and the platform team I work on. I’m constantly supporting the feature team while contributing big wins for the platform team. It can be a little chaotic, but I got promoted to senior because I’m always shining in meetings with staff and principal engineers present. Keep your ear to slack and treat the company like you own it. There are teams, but you have your expertise that anyone in the company might need.

It becomes a bit difficult to share or talk about your work and how did you perform. I believe a better way to do it is share a demo of what you have accomplished. This could give them better understanding how important are you :)

Do you guys have stand up like daily meetings? Just speak about it with the team what things you’re working on and if something you did solve just mention it to the team how did you do it.
If it is something worth document it, make a documentation and share it with others so if anyone new comes in or someone else works on same piece they know where to look for and who to talk to!
👍🏼 hope this helps

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

Any advice and past experiences in such career shit?

How many interviews is too many? I’ve done 5 one on ones with different people in the practice group. They want me to talk to a few more, but I’m frustrated. It’s so hard to find time to schedule these things and the associates don’t seem to understand I can’t just take them in the middle of the work day at work. Recruiter thinks it’s a good sign. FWIW they haven’t communicated to me position level they’d expect.

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?
