I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

What productivity hacks do you employ? I like to shut off my email for 25 min intervals to focus on real work. It’s like a sprint of focus without being “unavailable” too long.

I have been a strategy and planning associate for a year and a half (first job out of college), I found that I'm not really cut out for this sector of advertising and would like to get more into the creative area. I've applied to countless copywriting jobs but only get rejections. Does anyone have any advice? Are there other areas I should be looking? Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses .
