I am starting to think about meal prep for school. I had bariatric surgery a few years ago, and I get so tired of hauling stuff to school every day. I usually store some protein shakes and cheesestucks in my mini fridge. I also keep Applesauce and Go-gurt on hand for a quick snack during passing periods. What are your go-to school snacks?

This reminded me of a lady I used to see all the time on tik tok! Actually just had to get back on and find her, transformingteresamarie! She works for a school and also had bariatric surgery. Has a ton of great meal prep ideas and also snacks that are easy to keep or bring along.

I looked up the teacher on tiktok. She has an amazing story, and I love the way she shares tips.

Carrot sticks, grapes, and apple juice. Best snacks ever. Also sour patch kids for sensory shock during moments of anxiety.

Cottage cheese, i swear by it. Super high protein, and I buy the kind that has probiotics so it's a great gut health secret! I eat it with cucumbers or bell pepper strips so I kind of dip it in (add a little "everything but the bagel" seasoning and it's a total game changer). I also bring cheese and salami.

I bought some little bowls today. I can put cottage cheese in them. I hadn't thought about that.

Dang, I just realized that a cup of cottage cheese has 24 grams of protein. Compared to the price of protein powders, I may start cleaning my protein through cottage cheese!

I'm glad you made this post because I had the surgery this summer and I'm kind of anxious about going back.

Congratulations! I hope everything is going well! 😊 I had mine May 22, so you are probably just after me. Good luck!

Following! I had bariatric surgery in May!!

Thank you! In 10 weeks I’m down 56 pounds, feeling good overall but SO tired! A little worried about going back, but that’s not until August 26, so I still have a month left.

Green tea throughout the day with my kettle in my room. Almonds, peanut butter with celery, cucumbers, Oui yogurt, Cheddar Smartfood popcorn, grapes, pretzel sticks, cherry tomatoes!

like

I'm not a fan of green tea, but mom loved it. I like the other sn a ck ideas you mentioned. I think I may make myself a checklist of all the snack ideas everyone is suggesting.

Those are great snacks! Apples and peanut butter are another one of my go-to snacks. :) A little messier though, so I usually have to save that one for lunch or my planning period.

I usually didn't do peanut butter until after school because it seems we always have that one student who is allergic. For the last three years, we had a student who couldn't even be within a smelling range. I love peanut butter with a half of a banana.

I do intermittent fasting. So I don't eat until I get home. It's great, no more packing.

I wish I could do the intermittent fasting, but I would never get all my protein in. Besides with the smaller meals, I feel like I'm crashing sometimes, so I have to eat more often.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.
