You'd definitely save more money in the US with the compensation stated. I would consider other factors like quality of life (positives: clean environment, privacy, diversity etc. | negatives: weather, difficult/expensive to get house help, missing your family, Indian food, feeling of a being in a foreign country etc.). As a travel freak, I would take up the offer in US as that would allow me to travel to a lot of places that is relatively expensive/difficult from India.
I am assuming you both have offers of 150k each in California/other west coast country. You will be able to being home 200k after taxes. Even after living a lavish life as a married pair, you will be able to save 100k usd annually which is the same as your pretax salary in India.
If you plan to eventually retire in India, going abroad at this salary is a great career and financial decision.

USA offer is extraordinary but keep recession in mind
True. They r the ones who are getting fired most.
Question is little demotivating. But anyway can't do much
OP you would be able to save whatever you’re making in a year in India. Almost 70 to 80 lacs.
Definitely your upper middle class lifestyle will turn into middle class but the middle class saving of US will create a financial safety net for your rest of upper middle class life in India.
If your goal is not to settle in US then go there stay 3 to 5 years travel, have exposure and save that money for retirement fund in India.
Return to India purchase a decent house, invest rest, Plan a baby and still you’ll be in Upper middle class with financial safety net.
Staying in India, you never know when you have to drop down to middle class from upper middle class.
Thank you! That last line was hard hitting :D
If 90LPA is upper middle class, then me with 20LPA in that 60% of loans and emi is poorer than poor 😂😂😂😂😂
Do i have rights to live in any country 😂😂😂
Dude, 90 lakh is clearly upper class in terms of flow variable(income). You might be upper middle class in terms of stock variables (assets and investments) though.
My husband and I were making 1. 2 crore yearly in india . We moved to Canada last year and are almost making 300 k but standard of living has reduced and inflation is really high . Saving almost similar no muh difference .We are planning to go back to india in a year . It's nice and all here but the draw back is daily household chores have increased 😁

300k is HUGE for the US and is even huger since its in Phoenix. Much better than 90L in India.
Cheers to the growth you have made in your career/life bro!!

Thank you for your kind words! 😇
Which companies do u work at?
.
Thanks for the recipe. the first step of making a switch to 35L to 40Lpa is that I need to focus.
Right now i have 8yoe. I will work to upgrade in two years. Thanks for your motivation.
Yup! All the best :)
I had also switched from service to product. You can do it.
Phoenix is a relatively cheaper location. You will have a great time there on 300K base.
What is it like to earn 90lpa in India, and without dependents.
Would you like to share your lifestyle and your saving investments?
Could you please tell us your n your wife's designation and years of experience?
Hi there, Congratulations on your offers. Can you please give some details about your professional experience like for how long you have worked and at what designation are you being offered( assuming you're getting half that base ) the pay? I'm a fresh grad Backend developer so just being curious about your journey hoping to learn something from it!
9-10yoe!
Developer roles both of us.
We both had started from service based companies and made a switch after 3 yrs to a product and then one more switch after 2 yrs. i have been here for around 4yrs now, had got the best ratings mostly and finally internal movement to US was approved. Visa is still in transit. So fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Go to US , Have children in USA they will automatically get USA citizenship then return back to India after 2-3 year.
Newgen - check again.
It depends on your preferences money vs luxury and social life vs just 2 of you. See as you said you will be able to enjoy life in India with the per annum income. You can enjoy the luxury of a maid and drivers also if you are active then you have social life and celebration here.
All these things you will miss in USA. It's very lonely kind of life in US only on Weekends. But yes you can live the way you want, no one bothers.
Too much house work is there. There is no certainty of life as your visa can be rejected any time. Also currently the economy is volatile. Giving insights based on my 3 years stay. Now considering all these factors take a decision.
Did both of you get H1Bs at the same time?
Which company ?
Whats your yoe? Skills? Domain?
10yoe. Fullstack developer.
90L in India!!! Not surprised, you must be paying atleast 30L tax per annum. I'm sure you making Indian government rich.
Full stack developer 1, refer balaji vishwanathan’s “the middle class delusion”
Do you like to move abroad then move . Since you have no dependents it's easy and you will pay enough to enjoy life there. In long run it's good .
But if you get kids remember US countries kids are pretty messed up in young age.
You are only saving 1 lakh per month so I don't know I think you are enjoying here. So what's age of 2 of you. If you are near to 40+ stay here. Because 90 lac is pretty good and you can have roch life style.
Climate is another concern
Considering Purchasing Power Parity for US, with a CTC of 90LPA, you would atleast need to have a US salary of 387K USD(as of today's economic condition)
Well i think that’s not exactly how we should apply PPP here. It should only be applied to compare the expenditure on lifestyle that one incur in one country with another country.
For example- I would save around 40 lakhs in India on that salary. 25 lakhs of lifestyle/living expenses and 25 lakhs approx taxes.
And even with 320K in US - my lifestyle/living expenses of 25L in India are PPP’ed to 120k in Florida.. add 85-90k taxes. And I should be saving 110-120k at least.
Now if you calculate these savings to INR - I end up saving around 1cr. That’s a big jump.
