I applied for a role in Big4. I’m wondering if I live in central NJ, would I fall in the range of NYC metro or the “other geographic” locations? How do I determine appropriate salary range?

At PwC you’d likely be mapped to the Florham Park office which is the same salary band as NYC.

The big 4 have NJ offices. You'll be mapped there. You determine appropriate salary range by doing research.

For EY, the Iselin office is in a different band than Hoboken and Manhattan. If you are going with EY, I’d consider a mapping to Hoboken.

You’ll either be mapped to iselin or Hoboken. Honestly your choice.

Have about $200k in savings. Should i move them to a high yield savings account? Popular direct or UFB direct quoting 3.7-3.8% which is not bad. Any other ways to grow? I already have quite a bit more in index funds so don’t want to buy into more stocks

What are some side gigs people have done that they wouldn't pursue again today? Are there any you'd still go for, but would approach completely differently?

Thinking along the lines of:
- Platforms you'd keep away from
- Gigs that people have missed the boat on by now or instead that have just taken off only now
- Specific hustles that aren't worth the upfront cost/hassle in setting up or that are super hard to hire for
- Policies/attitudes you'd adopt going into things this time around

Its weird that EY is calling themselves providing exceptional experiences, but keep sending Return to Office email on Friday and ruin our mood. I am currently in Tax Technology and was hoping to make a switch to FDD. Given the current market conditions and my overall lack of insight into the line of work, I was hoping for some knowledge and tips:

1) how's the current state of affairs in FDD? Has work slowed down?
2) What would the pay structure look like for a senior consultant?
3) Reference material to look into prepping for FDD?
4) Is there a line of preference over buy side vs sell side?
5) any other info is welcome

Thank you
