I think that the war camps definitely make you a real marine. The training is intense and brutal, but it's what makes you ready for the realities of combat. The camaraderie that you build with your fellow marines in these camps is also incredibly strong, and it's what will keep you going when things get tough.
I think that the training that marines receive is important, but I also think that the experience of being in a war camp makes you a real marine. The skills and discipline that you learn in a war camp are invaluable, and they can help you survive in any situation.
I agree, the Marines are always on the front lines of battle and no training prepares you for that, it is something you fear to experience and when you experience it it is worse than you expected but it makes you strong.
What an abstract comment, because in a certain way it is true but in another way it is the reason for so many traumatized brothers, the war does not leave anything good but to be honest it is the best way in which a marine exponentially increases his experience.
The training of the marines is the shortest time that the force has, all due to the need to have people on site but in the same way, nothing prepares you for war, the things they see and experience can only be taught directly, being a marine is a difficult task.
I think you're absolutely right, as a Marine when you graduate you think you know everything, but when you go to war for real and experience things you realize that you've only just begun.
You can never prepare anyone for a war, neither a marine nor a green beret, it is a matter of living fighting, and learning to survive and take care of your loved ones, at the same time you have to deal with the psychological problems that mark you for the whole life. None of this is learned in your country, you know in another fighting a war.
