I burst into tears Friday as I said goodbye to the best TA ever! She is now a kindergarten teacher in another district. It took me an hour to get over it and I know the other teachers and admin thought I was crazy. Change happens. But when there are no subs available and no one has an answer for Monday….what will I do? 18 students are 10 to many for me to teach by myself. And when I ask, they say there is someone, just not sure when the sub can start. Thanks for letting me vent!

Just started at a new small agency. I feel so out of place. People literally sit to eat lunch at the other side of the table from me and are so standoffish. I uprooted my whole life left my best friends to work here and am now regretting it. I’m stuck in a year lease and have to stay here a year otherwise I have to pay back moving expenses. Has this happened to you? How did you make it work? I’m so miserable and know I need to move back to where I was before…

Hi fishes,
What are the benefits apart from salary in IQVIA?

Our 6th grade schedule changed this year & our 45 min Flex period is now first thing in the morning. Students who have signed up for instrumental and chorus are pulled that block but it’s supposed to be “intervention” for the others. We rotate classes so I thought of treating it like homeroom, but I’m having trouble trying to think of how to best make use of that block. Any suggestions?

Congratulations NASA and Space X. We all needed a dose of positivity during these times. Kudos to the entire team.

Hello all,

Can someone tell me what interview questions can be asked in Linux operations program/project management practitioner role in Accenture?

Any leads can be helpful for my interview that is scheduled for tomorrow.

I have 2 years of experience as Linux administrator.

My younger sister has recently got engaged to a complete loser (who has previously cheated on her and been aggressive towards her). My parents are, for some bizarre reason, going along with it. I know I can only give her my advice and then let her get on with her life, but I don’t want to go to the wedding. My mum is now giving me ultimatums like ‘if you don’t go, we won’t see you for Christmas’. I can’t stomach going to the wedding- I just don’t know what to do

Looking for a nanny for our infant & our 3yo is thriving in preschool so don’t want to pull her out. The large chunk of $$ going to childcare leaves us with no extra funds. Is this the new norm? 😩

I just cleared my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam and am curious whether I should pursue Solutions Architect Associate and/or Developer Associate certificate next. My plan is to get about 7 certificates in the areas that interest me, even though they are not needed for my role. Have you gotten both? Any recommendation to which to pursue first?

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?

Additional Posts in Early Childhood Education

Hey everyone! I just came out with a free guide to online learning for early childhood teachers. Let me know if you’d be interested. Happy to send it your way! Sending you positive and healthy vibes!

I teach PreK in a public school. Our state allows PreK programs to nap without masks if proper ventilation is provided. I have 16 children, a minimum of 3 feet apart, no masks, with two LOUD air filters, two tiny windows open, the outside and hall door open, at average in 72-76 degrees. What is your childcare classroom doing for rest time?

My name is Dawn and I teach pre-kindergarten in a public elementary school in New Jersey. I’ve been teaching for 16 years and have my masters in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. Nice to meet everyone.

I have a para/assistant teacher that just wants to argue over everything. “You’re the teacher, why do I have to assess the children during break out rooms?” We have 8 kids, and I am only asking her to do 3! The other para is doing 3 and I and doing 2 with IEPs!!! How am I supposed to handle this in a professional manner virtually? Plus she is frustrated b/c o can’t explain everything. I keep telling her it’s all new to me too. Grace is not a word in her vocab. And I am feeling graceless.

Hello all! Let’s get to know each other! I’m Sarah D. I’ve worked in education for 11 years. I received my Bachelors Degree in ECE in 2017. Currently teach Two Year olds at a private preschool ❤️.

I’m Kim E. I work in public school grant funded preschool for 4 year olds in Michigan, and I also own a private preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds. This is my 18th year teaching.

Hi! I taught State-funded PreK in Georgia for 4 years and I am now on my 2nd year of Kinder. I also taught at a private preschool for 4 years before becoming full time in college. Love birth to 5!

Hello everyone long time ECE teacher. 20 something years.

I'm Becky and I teach in a play-based public school preschool in Minnesota. This is my 24th year, all in 0-5 and parent ed!

Hey EC teachers! Anyone willing to get on a market research call with me? I promise, no pitch!! Just want to ask a few questions :)

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

Hi! I am Rustina and I teach 3 to 5 year olds in an inclusive Title 1 PreK program in NC. I have my masters from UNC CH in early intervention and family support. I love STEM and am a Global teacher

Preschool teachers!! Next week is our last week for GSRP what do you guys do for your end-of-the-year celebration?

I am an elementary school teacher. My oldest son is feeling drawn to ECE. He loves children, loves to help in vacation bible school, wants to work directly with people to help them. Thoughts?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

I’m Elizabeth and I’m in Las Vegas. I’ve been teaching ECSE for 14 years and it’s my 18th year teaching (i taught resource for 4 years). I love my littles! Who has taught the toddler crowd?

How is your district implementing school reentry? How are you setting up your classrooms to meeting social distancing while still allowing for free play?
