How is your district implementing school reentry? How are you setting up your classrooms to meeting social distancing while still allowing for free play?

I am looking for ideas on how to teach spelling in the classroom.

Does anyone have experience working for Connections Academy or another virtual academy? I am very interested in teaching from home, but most virtual jobs I have reviewed still require you to come to an office/ school building. I want to know what it is like, specifically the work load. Would you say more or less than public? How does classroom management, amount of grading, and freedom of curriculum differ?

Just went from 5th to 2nd and would love to know classroom management ideas. Anything to stay away from? Thanks!

I can manage my classroom better if I don’t respond to emails outside of office hours. This gives my mind a break and by consequence refreshes me for the next day. It also sets a boundary.

Anyone have advice for talking to teachers in your school that are upset with you?
My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.

Need a way to help with water intake at school? I was skeptical of it at first but finally caved and bought the cirkul bottle it has helped me nearly double my water intake since having it!! It’s small enough to carry around the classroom, tons of different flavors, and the metal bottle keeps the water cold throughout the school day! 😍 let me know if you want to know more about my favorite flavors so far! Also! Having an Amazon echo with reminders scheduled helped remind me to drink up too!

Accenture CN peeps, my manager has not been able to staff me to a project for 2 weeks now after my release from one of the projects where the role as as good as content manager’s. I had voluntarily asked for my roll off as the role was just to upload come content on various platforms. I burst into tears Friday as I said goodbye to the best TA ever! She is now a kindergarten teacher in another district. It took me an hour to get over it and I know the other teachers and admin thought I was crazy. Change happens. But when there are no subs available and no one has an answer for Monday….what will I do? 18 students are 10 to many for me to teach by myself. And when I ask, they say there is someone, just not sure when the sub can start. Thanks for letting me vent!

I have a para/assistant teacher that just wants to argue over everything. “You’re the teacher, why do I have to assess the children during break out rooms?” We have 8 kids, and I am only asking her to do 3! I teach PreK in a public school. Our state allows PreK programs to nap without masks if proper ventilation is provided. I have 16 children, a minimum of 3 feet apart, no masks, with two LOUD air filters, two tiny windows open, the outside and hall door open, at average in 72-76 degrees.
