Hey ladies 👋

A few weeks ago, I shared how hard it was for me to land interviews despite sending tons of InMails on LI, networking, and applying. I made new connections off of 1 post on Fishbowl which is AMAZING! 👏 I haven't gotten any offers yet, but I'm optimistic that the right opportunity is around the corner. 🤞🏽

I'm making another post because I was inspired by others generosity in reaching out to help. Tell me what you're looking for and drop you LI url.

I burst into tears Friday as I said goodbye to the best TA ever! She is now a kindergarten teacher in another district. It took me an hour to get over it and I know the other teachers and admin thought I was crazy. Change happens. But when there are no subs available and no one has an answer for Monday….what will I do? 18 students are 10 to many for me to teach by myself. And when I ask, they say there is someone, just not sure when the sub can start. Thanks for letting me vent!

I have a para/assistant teacher that just wants to argue over everything. “You’re the teacher, why do I have to assess the children during break out rooms?” We have 8 kids, and I am only asking her to do 3! The other para is doing 3 and I and doing 2 with IEPs!!! How am I supposed to handle this in a professional manner virtually? Plus she is frustrated b/c o can’t explain everything. I keep telling her it’s all new to me too. Grace is not a word in her vocab. And I am feeling graceless.

Hello everyone long time ECE teacher. 20 something years.

I'm Becky and I teach in a play-based public school preschool in Minnesota. This is my 24th year, all in 0-5 and parent ed!

Hey EC teachers! Anyone willing to get on a market research call with me? I promise, no pitch!! Just want to ask a few questions :)

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

I am an elementary school teacher. My oldest son is feeling drawn to ECE. He loves children, loves to help in vacation bible school, wants to work directly with people to help them. Thoughts?

I teach PreK in a public school. Our state allows PreK programs to nap without masks if proper ventilation is provided. I have 16 children, a minimum of 3 feet apart, no masks, with two LOUD air filters, two tiny windows open, the outside and hall door open, at average in 72-76 degrees. What is your childcare classroom doing for rest time?
