I currently work for a large plaintiff side firm and have been here for 5 years. The workload is insane but I can manage. Since I’m able to get through my workload management is always piling more on top of me and expecting me do everyone else’s work. This doesn’t seem to fair to me and the money isn’t worth it. On top of this the women here seem very cliquey and employee and it’s basically a popularity contest to get any sort of recognition or appreciation here.

Sounds a lot like a firm i used to work for. A lot of nepotism and the bully office manager ran the show. I left and never looked back.

Seems like it’s time to start applying elsewhere.

Not quite sure what you’re asking for here, advice or support, but have you attempted to communicate with your superiors regarding it?

Leave for a better place. They won't change for you. They grind people in and out. That is what those firms do. Go smaller.

If you've been doing it for 5 years and have your systems in place, are you in a position to start your own firm?

My partner and I are moving out of our condo building in NYC at month end, and the building management (not our landlord) has communicated to us that, on top of the 1K non-refundable fee and 1K security deposit to move out (stated in lease), they are also issuing a $1,250 "sanitization fee" for the public areas (hallways/elevators), since we happen to be moving out during COVID19. We feel this is taking advantage of tenants during this time and may not be legal. Any advice helps!

Hi everyone.
Just reached final on-site round for a Senior Manager position in the logistics department. Role is for Amazon UK. Recruiter is asking me now for my expected compensation (base salary + total comp) via email. Any idea what to aim for?

I don’t know the level but was aiming £80k base, +15% bonus. If I don’t fall under their budget, would I automatically be removed from candidates?
Any tips are appreciated!

I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. My last job was a temporary remote job where I didn’t really interact with my supervisor and the jobs before that were at my family’s business (I do not speak to any of them for serious personal reasons.) Anything before that was grad school and I haven’t kept in contact with any professors from over five years ago. What should I do? 😕

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
