I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research. But I don’t want to fail at the last hurdle as I really like this company and it would be a dream to work there any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I recently moved to Chicago from DC and prior to that, I lived in Maryland. I have to say, the state of Illinois has to be the most incompetently ran state. The roads, parks, and amenities are all terrible. The politics are even worse. Say what you want about Maryland, at least we had a governor that stood up to the legislature and listened to the people

i moved recently and incurred about 10K in CC debt (~25% APR) and about 36K left of my student debt (8% APR). I can probably pay between $1000-$1500 a month towards debt with my current budget. my parents recently downsized are gifting me $40K to pay off my student loan, which my mum co-signed. would it be appropriate to ask her if i can use it to pay off CC debt and continue paying the student loan (and pay it off on my own by fall)? should i just bite the bullet and pay the interest?

Viewed a studio apartment today. Excellent location, renovated, great price, back of the building. But it was sandwiched between the stairwell and the garbage chute. Is this a deal breaker? It’s on a lower floor of a high rise so assuming lots of ppl would be dropping their stuff down the chute.

I left public accounting for industry about 1.5 years ago. I was a senior in a PCS group. I'll be looking to get back into PA in a PCS group once I get licensed. Does being out of PA for 2 years mean I should look for an experienced staff role, or could I get a senior position? My industry role isn't tax related, so I would have to get back up to speed on all the tax changes in the past couple of years.

I’m a tax senior 1 (will be a senior 2 in October) and just got an offer with a 26% raise at a large public company on their provision team. There’s also an aspect of FP&A and helping with transactions so not strictly tax. All seems super interesting and the team seems great. I really like my EY team and my counselor has talked to me about an early manager promo next year but have never intended to be a PA lifer. Any reason I shouldn’t take it?

My firm uses CCH Axcess to store documents. I accidentally downloaded a partners 2019 return but didn’t open it. I’m sure it is going to show up in the history if the partner ever opens the history for it. I am so scared and don’t get sleep most nights thinking what I would say if I was ever asked.
