I finally had my exit interview today after two years of absolute chaos and gaslighting. I had a whole list of grievances ready to go, but at the last second, I decided to just play it safe and say it was a great opportunity. I was too afraid that being honest would burn bridges, even though that place was a total nightmare. Now I feel a weird sense of guilt for not warning them about the manager who ruined my mental health. Do you think it’s ever actually worth it to be honest during an exit interview?

No.

smart

No its not worth it. Companies already know their culture as well as who the players are in it. If they wanted to correct it they would have done so by now. Keep it moving and celebrate your exit. Your vengeance is moving on and hopefully to someplace much better.

I agree with others that HR doesn’t really care. That said, it probably would have felt good to get that off your chest. I’m always honest in exit interviews in the hope that my feedback might help things change. I’m sure it doesn’t, but I’m going to be honest regardless.

It's best to move on with professionalism and not leave with anyone having to say a bad thing about you. Most often, you cannot change these types of managers and or environments. Being honest would be the best thing however not with these types of businesses where they can change the narrative.

No. You did the right thing. Keep your peace!

Hello all, for those working in an agency. I wanted to see what your typical client workload is? I’ve been in my role for about a year but the workload has changed dramatically without hiring help.

Can you please share:
- the number of accounts you manage
- how many support staff you have on those accounts
- how many active pitches you send per month for those clients on average

Thanks all!
