I finally landed a FT job - lower salary but I will take it. Almost 1800 applications from the beginning of 2024 up until last week. Out of them 680 rejections and the rest with no response. Numerous rounds of interviews (50 interviews total), project assessments(that were never reviewed), even some final rounds in quite a few places. If you care to do the math, it's depressing. A 2.78% return for interviews from all applications. Had to knock 10 years of experience off of my CV due to ageism.

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.

Flexible on format etc; here’s what I’m thinking:
- We choose a particular problem for a week (/month?) which a lot (all?) PMs face regularly. E.g. “stakeholder mapping”
- we have a “Fishbowl Live event” where we (practicing PMs) can discuss what we have seen work / not work/ brainstorm solutions for someone with a specific problem.

The idea is to provide multiple peer perspectives, and hopefully something useful

Finally made the career shift into tech product management (originally in consulting). It’s been exactly a month of being in the role, but any advices on how to spend the next 60, 90 days+ ahead?
