I got 16 lpa CTC with WFH & I am living at my in-laws place at Tier3 city so can I create one rent agreement with them and transfer monthly rent online of around 60% of my monthly basic pay(65766×60%= around 40k) to make Max tax benefit of my HRA salary component?
Next query, as my wife is housewife so can she further take this money from her father in cash and deposit to her bank AC and seperate ITR can be filled for her as there will be zero tax for her?
is this legal what I am doing?

Please give me a rough estimate on how much hike we can expect in my annual salary revision. I expected 8LPA when I joined. They gave me 5LPA with a promise of revision in 3months after joining. They inc it to 7.75LPA after 4m and during appraisal cycle gave 25k 11months to make it to 8LPA. In Oct my hike is due, so I would to like negotiate my hike.
