Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Do you want/need a job?
I mean it totally depends on whether or not you're open to a new role and whether you can handle their attitude. One option would be to tell them you're open to working with them but you need to set some boundaries to make it work for you. Think about what kind of communication you want from them, and set up some parameters to make it work for you. I feel like most recruiters would take that well.
I think it depends on if you’re open to a new role. If you are then definitely!
If you want a job and they have access to amazing ones, why care if they're pushy? Some people who are naturally obnoxious are well suited to those sorts of roles. It's like one of those nature films where all the various animals Attenborough is talking about have specific skills they need. If the pushy character can get you a great job, go for it, you'll live on with the job, you're not going to cohabit with pushy recruiter.
It's up to you, but my advice is to work with the recruiter so long as they are proactive. In this job market, it's best to take any job opportunity you receive so long as the work environment is not toxic. I hope this helps!
