They can fire you for any reason. That is how at will employment works. Not sure what the basis of the lawsuit is.

Employees actions impact the firm. Right or wrong, what we say and do is viewed as an extension of the firm and obviously can have negative impact in our clients relationships.
Well. They were right to fire him/her because their speech isn't protected from repercussions by the employer. If he/she were smart enough to understand that, they wouldn't be suing. So, it sounds like the person is quite unemployable due entirely to their poor logic and understanding of common sense things.
Beyond that, even in a true contractual employment relationship, an employer can often fire an employee for cause for comments that reflect negatively on the employer
EY has a social media policy. If this violated that (couldn't find article), then this might have been grounds for dismissal.
