Currently in finance ops group at a PE shop in Canada. In late stages of interview process w GS in NYC for similar role but at the Associate level. All indications point to an offer being imminent but I have concerns with 1) title (junior VP’s in the group have +1/-1 YOE than me, 2) base feels a bit light given I have 9+ YOE (job description says top end is US$160K)…Nervous for a change as current role is very comfy but nothing ever grows in comfort zones. Thoughts?

Looking for thoughts and opinions about HR involvement in employee promotions. More specifically passing up an experienced employee for not having a college degree. We have an employee in our office, who applied for a promotion and despite having a degree, would be a perfect fit. Several supervisors recommended this employee for the position but HR denied the promotion for lack of a degree. I have a graduate degree and I still feel that experience is sometimes more valuable. I know it’s probably too early to apply to jobs, but I’ve been looking for entry level strategist jobs just to see what kinds of things are mentioned in job descriptions, but I’m having trouble finding them. Is there a certain name used for this kind of role that I’m aware of rather than strategist, or are these types of entry level roles just hard to come by? Thanks!

Is it possible to land a financial analyst position with only 6 months of experience in audit? I tried to stick it out w/ B4 but I don’t think I can do it anymore. I’m interested in duties like budgeting/forecasting, but haven’t come across very many entry level positions. I’m mostly seeing entry level jobs that are called “financial analyst” but include duties like JE/reconciliations. I don’t have SQL/Tableau experience either... so not sure if I just need more experience in a diff role first?

I got an offer from Accenture and joining date is 18 October. This is into CN. Lately I got a temporary employment contract from Dubai with a very decent pay.
Due to some personal urgencies, I am under confusion to pursue the offer at Dubai or not!
Can I ask a counter from Accenture to increase my pay and a hard genuine try to send me onsite in 6 months?
Or will it backfire and they close my current offer? What's the situation in Accenture as the market is snaily in recent months!

I’m a staff (been here about a year) and have a senior who is traditionally not well liked. Her and I however get along pretty well. Recently I did something not to the standard she had wanted (twice). I asked to be walked through it and she started the phone call essentially being like what happened here? I started out in PA 01/16 at 60k and full of energy at a midsize firm in NYC Audit, I stayed for 2 years shortly after I made senior for a few reasons but I digress, I went to a top 10 PA and stayed for 7 months making 75K and got a small bonus, work life balance was worse, all new clients and shit absentee managers and way more miserable staff/Seniors, at that point I had enough after 3 busy seasons and a culture that was eat your hours and grind as a plebe for continued....

What does a Supervising Senior do that a normal senior doesn't?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
