"People just want it to work" is a thing clients have said about the product the company I work for makes. It's true. And it's all over. I usually think it's because Agile's method is what everyone thinks works but so much stuff across all tech areas seems to be released broken and then never fixed or fixed way too slowly. I’m not finding much online about lower-level salaries for in-house positions since they’re not as common as mid- or senior-level roles and am expecting an offer, but I’m not sure what’s a reasonable goal for salary negotiations.

I'm looking to switch from criminal prosecution to in house. I have a 13 year background in healthcare and white collar fraud investigations. I'm looking to limit litigation (I've tried enough cases) and hopefully increase pay switching from government.

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $350k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!
