Perception mostly. Only thing MBA really does is facilitate is Big picture thinking and equip one with tools to present it clearly to senior stakeholders effectively.
K1-are you High? What did you just say
Also to compensate MBA expensive tuition investment
I’ve really used my MBA (top 5 school) both in applying things I learned in the classroom and having a great network of friends. The two years were also a great time for personal development and growth
MBA improves your overall understanding of running any business. So, when it comes to consulting, where you face multiple clients with variety of problems, your MBA comes to work.
It's a signaling effect. You got into a top school so you're clearly capable - ability to score high on gmat, good pre-MBA work experience, essays and interviews, etc. If you can get through that process it's usually a safe bet you're smart/a hard worker and you'll do well as an employee. Companies want stable, hard working, intelligent employees
The network that a MBA gets you.... that's it
MBAs also have tangible experiences so let's not get butt hurt. Very few people go straight to bschool after undergrad
Director here in MC, I have no idea what the answer is to your question but I don't care, top mba and 10 years solid consulting experience! Why choose? It's what the industry values, either you get it or complain but it won't change anything
@D2 if that network has potential to score the firm more deals, wouldn't it make it a no brainer for higher comp?
If mba won't get compensated more, why would anyone go? Mba schools will go out of business...
Apparently they don’t teach you how to create proper sentences and punctuation. Meh
Has the verdict been made that it must be prestigious MBA?
@sc1 I'm not butt hurt but asked a serious question. I'm debating whether to go that route. I know it pays well but am wondering if the knowledge you aquire is actually applicable so as to justify the pay
Ey1 please read the question again
.
If you didn't get my point then get an MBA!
