So I got 2 offers, 1 at a well-known firm (that I previously worked at, not as an atty) that offered 80K plus full benefits (100% health coverage, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus & 1800 billable req.) Their a little old school in their methods but I do see the younger gen. coming in to make changes. 2nd offer is at a newer firm however i’ve heard great things, and they offered 80k, unl. Any tips for how to decide when to involve outside counsel? I have a fair amount of discretion when to get help but coming from a firm background I’m so used to just doing everything myself, which has led to me being busier than I’d like meaning I have trouble focusing enough time on anything to do a good job. I’m just curious how other folks decide when to handle actual legal work (i.e. contract drafting and negotiation) versus farming some of that out.

Interested in making the move from data analytics to data science eventually at bigger tech co. Currently at a startup, coming up on 1 year mark this week. Got an offer from a ML startup for another data analytics role with clear progression to ML engineer. Comp is the essentially the same (95k). My fear is jumping around too much too frequently. Should I stay at my current role, bide my time, and keep trying to jump to a bigger tech data role or make the switch to another startup now?

It's been 4month with the team with no manager. I recently joined the organization and the team I am part of is headed by a lead and one analyst.
So being a new member as Sr.Data Analyst I sometimes have to report to analyst. Considering the fact that he has been part of the team for past 1 year and sometimes he sounds like lead as he is leading some project.
On other hand my manager is continuously asking me take lead in project and try to reduce dependency on that analyst.

So I’m doing insurance defense in house and I’m wondering what senior managers pay starts out at . I feel like my position maxes around 160K currently at 120K . Also how much are bonuses usually I’m in my first few months 😅

Is it bad to give less than 2 weeks notice before a last day? Our manual says "at least 2 weeks" but I booked a ticket to travel for a family event leaving on June 10th and my goal was to have another job by then so I could permanently move, too. In order for me to give 2 weeks I have to let them know by May 26th but if I don't hear back from a job by then...I'd either have to give less than 2 weeks notice or book a ticket to come back just to give 2 weeks and then would fly back.

The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. Trying to get some salary data. I’m a 2016 grad doing global litigation in house in a major metro area (NYC/DC/SF). My salary is $182K. My company says that I’m being paid above market and that doesn’t seem accurate. Could others share their details so I can either (1) push back more on salary; or (2) adjust my expectations.
