Unless it is absolutely necessary, it is better to arrange a review call with the owner and continue doing a good job. Remember to treat others the way you would like to be treated and avoid displaying excessive self-confidence. It may be acceptable to do so once, but not all the time. Be confident, yet humble. You won't regret
Nice, congrats on being correct. Must not be common for you?
How did you spot a hidden error?
How did you deal with him having to deal the possible feeling of humiliation?
I hope you reached out to them first and not point it out in a public way
Sounds like you’re a junior. Once you are mid-level and above you are expected to challenge things, think critically, provide input, and not just take things at face value. It just becomes part of the job. As someone else on here said, I hope you were respectful in your feedback.
I bet that did feel great, and I imagine you were respectful as everyone keeps pointing out, and this is your outlet to truly celebrate! Congrats 💃🏻
While we are still curious to know the error so we can learn too. The resounding advice of being humble shouldn't be taken lightly. No one likes to be humiliated in public, especially in the presence of their juniors.
That said! Remember to include this feat in your bragging book and if possible raise your review/ assessment, just see if you have gotten to a milestone that can allow you to do this so that both parties don't forget.
Remember in your conversation to 'commend' your supervisor for his tutorship or training that enabled you to point this out. If in a team, make it a team speech. People never forget how you made them feel! Always remember that.
Congratulations once more! And cheers to new heights 🍸
