Four days during this hiring economy is not too bad. If it gets to around 10 days, I would get worried. Job offers aren't simple, it has to pass through a lot more hands than we realize.
4 days isn't too bad, especially if it's a large company. If you haven't heard anything from them by a week, I'd send over an email or call to follow up. Just a quick message asking if they have any further questions, or if they've reached a hiring decision. If there's no response within two weeks, they're probably still interviewing other applicants and haven't made a decision...or someone went on vacation and they have to wait...Wouldn't sweat it, and think positively.
I totally understand the anxiety. Why didn't you agree to start sooner? Especially if you are in a hurry to leave your current place?
Ok, understood. If you expressed that the logistics of moving would make it difficult to do so then they should understand this without any issue. If they do take issue with something this small, then that's not a good place to work either. What they should do is let you work virtually the first week or two while you complete your move as a win win. Maybe offer that up after you get the offer if you want to. Good luck and keep us posted.

Im hoping this goes out to every that replied to my post. I got the job and start in about three weeks. I'm locking down my movers, packing and closing on my new apartment and shutting down my current place.
Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. I truly appreciate it.
I am so happy this opportunity worked out for you.
Best wishes for much happiness and success there.
I understand the nerves, but 4 business days isn't that long, especially if approvals are needed. The fact that they were pushing for an early start is a really good sign. If you don't hear anything today or tomorrow, just send a quick follow up email to see where things stand. Good luck to you.
Be positive. Start doing what you will do when you get the offer. If you’re serious about moving on then be ready.
If you pushed back strong on the starting earlier, I recommend you try to reconsider that. Maybe they had another candidate more ready to go. Like others said, follow up this week.

I plan on following up on Friday. That puts me a week plus a day out from the interview. I think my source of frustration is my current role. Im pretty much checked out in my mind. Im ready to move and go.
