^ not an easy move to make, speaking from experience. I'm an SA and applied to a role through internal mobility/TAPS and my resume didn't even get past HR.

like

^ been trying. Unfortunately easier said than done.

Get a sponsor Partner from MC coz RC won't have your back. You've got to do the hard work.

like

Yes I have. ITA did not support me at all and I had to do all the leg work to find a Partner to sponsor the transfer and staff me.

like

1. Reach out to Partners you will like to work with or an MC group you are interested in and share your interests as to why you would like to work with and for them and the value YOU bring to them
2. Broaden that network and ask them to staff you on a future project
3. Inform your PML ahead of time so there aren't any surprises
4. Get staffed on an MC project and blow the helloutta that project (that's your business case)
5. Let the Partner inform HR, your PML, and the Partner you report to that he/she will like to initiate the process

Voila! This way you have experience, have worked on an MC engagement and brought immense VALUE to the Firm at large.

Make the jump to cyber. I've seen ITA move to cyber a lot at KPMG

Also, don't knock it. If you were to make a move out of ITA and ever found yourself with low util you could almost always find an ITA engagement to keep you busy.

Side note: I have Cyber exp prior to coming to K

TAPS is not effective. Network with directors and MDs in the area you are interested in

Try moving to MC

^ anybody successfully make the switch???

What's the point of TAPS if it's not effective. I was seriously ticked off that they wouldn't even put me in contact with someone from the practice.

AA1, I made that switch successfully. Very successfully.

^ how so??

Hope that helps

Thank you - going through the process of reaching out to MC leadership now. My office lacks MC presence though so I've been reaching out to connects in other offices. It's been tough to get any traction.

Isn't Cyber is under RC... how would an MC partner help me get staffed on RC engagements? K4 you switched ITA to cyber?

ITA to MC

K3 what was your move? Honestly out of ITA can be tough because they pull the "continuity" card. Such bullshit.

I’m a CFP® and work as a test engineer for financial planning software. I’m pretty new to the tech space, and wondering what jobs might be out there in the fintech space as I gain more software knowledge. It’s kind of niche working in financial planning software as my background is financial planning. What kind of jobs are out there that might translate well and would have good earning potential?
