PSA: Everyone tip your hotel maids. Forgetting to tip your maid is no different than forgetting to tip your restaurant wait staff. Also at most, if not all firms, you can expense your hotel gratuity
Going to Italy this summer with my husband and spending a few days in Florence and Rome. Does anyone have Marriott suggestions? I’m looking to use points
Which offer is the best? 7 YOE -Deal Advisory Manager focusing on AAS $140K base in Big4. This will be a boomerang. -Corporate Strategy Mng role in a private company $125K base My priority is WLB and minimal travel but seems like WLB is not really possible in Strategy role but there is possible traveling in Big4 too. So confused.
Anyone here branded a hotel? How much would you charge for a flat rate to work with an agency?
Is Delta really that much better than UA or am I stuck in a "grass is greener" mentality? Home airport is IAH and not sure it's worth it to switch (can challenge for Platinum)
AA ✈️💺 Benchmarking: I’m often curious as to the spend for folks above / below on the upgrade list. Perhaps others are also curious, too? Would AA folks post: Home airport / EQD / EQM / EQS?
Hilton just extended 2020 status for another 24 months. Has marriott done the same yet? Let’s hope the same for airlines.
Feeling stuck. Sick of the travel and don't see opportunities with me to stay with the firm. About to hit year 3. Want to stay in DC, maybe tech/startup? Don't even know anymore. Anyone feel similarly
Is consulting really even worth it anymore if I have to pay for my own food now and travel moving forward is going to be at the max 1/3 of what it used to be (if things are ever “normal” again) so all those benefits we forced ourselves to accept as worth are now gone?
Got the call for United Global Services invite for 2020! Better than this year when I barely made it with email in late Jan..
I inherited several American Gold Eagle coins and have no idea what to do with them. Sell them? Keep them? If I do decide to sell, what is the process for that and how do I get the best return?
Squawk Box guest says we will definitely return to business travel exactly like 2019, but it’s going to “take some time.” I’m trying to decide whether I am bringing my team back to the office in full or hybrid models or staying WFH. Tell me what I should do but don’t start with “I work more at home!” Or “I’m so much more productive at home” because even if true, the data isn’t showing that TEAMS are more productive
I put myself on a delta airlines standby list and now I’m regretting it. Is there anyway to cancel the standby / same day change request ? The flight is tomorrow

History test (hopefully) not too long from now: Which of the following virus strains was the deadliest during the Covid-19 pandemic? A) Alpha, B) Delta, C) Omicron, D) None of the above
Anyone know of a good lawyer in Chicago? Found out my apartment's foundation is infested with toxic black mold and is responsible for a lot of health issues that I've had
Would appreciate some guidance..I was given a second project unrelated to my current work. The LOE is growing and a lot more than I had anticipated where I cannot focus on my main project. I’ve been working 10-12 hrs with no break in between and really burnt out to a point I just want to quit w/no other jobs lined up. Should I bring it to my manager? If so how should I approach this…? I don want to come off as a complainer or someone incompetent….
Hi All, Need Investment advice as someone is just starting to invest and cant invest in stocks due to employer restrictions. I am not doing any Roth/IRA as no matching by employer. I have a single income household with kid, and have a 50-50 chance of continuing in US beyond 2021.
Looking to buy a house (200-300k) in Houston to rent out even though I live in ATL. Trying to get my foot in the grow city.
Ok...thoughts on staying at current firm after giving notice? They gave me everything I wanted and better benefits. Tempted to stay... I was mostly leaving for better pay and future career prospects (partner eventually). Current firm offer: 95k for 1500 hours; 3% 401k match; 12 weeks full salary paid maternity leave; 20% equity in the firm; small firm (5 attorneys) Already accepted offer: 115k 1900 hours; potential to become partner; 6 weeks paid maternity leave; national firm. ...bad to stay?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
One of my instructional aides informed me that another aide is taking Snapchats of our synchronous virtual lessons. I'm fuming. What do I do?
Promoted to Senior Associate (~88k) but received external job offer in Corporate Development (~105k). How is the transition to industry life (no travel, office on fridays, no points)? can’t decide😶
I’m about to start in PE and wish I could get more excited about the role, but can’t help but feel like being an associate is going to be the start of another improbable rat race to get to VP. Anyone with insight into what it’s actually like? Do more people choose to leave after their 2 years than I’m giving credit for, or do most people try to make it up the steep pyramid? For me this is a dream job...
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
Ask = Any advice on how much I should invest in crypto and where to start? Background = 68K in a HYSA. 16K = emergency fund. I want to buy a car in December (for personal use and to put on Turo since I’m WFH) and I’m looking into renting a property that I can put on Air BnB. I am also looking into buying a vending machine. I currently max out my Roth and 401K. No HSA because I’m on my mom’s insurance.
(First ever post) I originally I joined this app to learn from others in consulting on a variety of topics (gender perspectives, comp, tips/ recommendations). Ever since downloading, I see more hatred and people making judgements on others with little context. Consultants are supposed to problem solvers but instead of people sharing perspectives I feel I’m back on Twitter reading threads that only create hate. Anyone else feel that way?
Who decides the compensation for big 4 experienced hires? Is it the interviewing partners?
Anybody own a Marriott timeshare? Attended a presentation today and was wondering if it makes sense for people like us who have a lot of points.. which will run out eventually..
I have the chance to convert 170,000 Marriott points to cash at their "going rate" of .8 cents to be $1360. Would you do it? My question effectively is, if I have time and location flexibility, is it likely I could find a sweet deal to get more than that amount of value from those points?
I teach Economics and Personal Finance at a specialty school. I use NGPF for personal finance but I am seeking Economics lessons for G&T
Have signed a offer from EY-Parthenon in Europe, but had a interview with Kearney earlier today, which I skewed up and didn’t make it to next round. Despite I’m very happy with EYP - it kind of brothers me, should it?
Is it common to get assigned to senior associate job role for projects when your designation is Manager?
Anyone ever negotiated preferred method of travel (ie biz class) into their compensation negotiations? Curious as to how this was received by mgmt
