I have a question for y’all… have any of y’all been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult? I have been suffering from severe insomnia, which has triggered anxiety and panic attacks, which are common when you don’t sleep… even the most aggressive meds haven’t worked… then my couples therapist mentioned that this could be a cause and the mental hyperactivity could be rendering the meds inert… any experiences or if you know someone who knows someone… would be appreciated… I did a screener and it said 95%

I’m currently struggling with my friend group. I’m a transplant to my current city and ended up making friends with my coworkers (who were also transplants). During the pandemic I dove into my self care (found a therapist, learned I was having seizures and got on meds for that). My journey has been difficult and not pretty to watch. Somewhere along the line I feel like my fiancé saw too much. I no longer feel like romantic parters and instead feel like we have a “caretaker/patient” type relationship. I don’t feel sexy or attractive anymore. I talked to him about this and he feels bad. But I feel guilty for bringing it up. Anyone else had this issue?

Really trying not to spiral, and my practice group leader has been openly hostile to and dismissive of me lately. I haven’t mentioned my depression/anxiety to him because we’re not exactly getting along swimmingly, but I don’t know who else to talk to about my MH. Fighting with my wife hasn’t helped either. Really not sure how to handle it aside from counseling but that isn’t getting me anywhere fast. Thoughts?

Looking for some mental health advice - I’ve been dealing with pretty debilitating anxiety/panic attacks for over 5 years. Finally started to get some help for it through medication, however the first 3 meds my PCP prescribed me (ssris) didn’t work. Because I haven’t deal with the anxiety it’s gotten really bad. Do I go to a pyscitatrist whose trained more in pharma or start with therapist. Have done therapy in past without much help.

If anyone in DC area is looking for a great therapist.... i cannot recommend mine enough! I have seen several and she’s been detrimental in my getting better: Janet Wilson in Arlington.

How does someone like Elon Musk can go on to do so much while I can barely get out of my bed, keep my job and have the will to live?

Anyone else feel like a large weight or a cloud of fog is weighing them down and preventing from doing and enjoying even basic things? What can be done about it?

I feel like I am very naive and cannot read between the lines, so I can’t tell if someone is trying to fuck me over or not. This leads me to be extremely skeptical of others’ intentions, and makes me less confident that I can influence others, and in general really erodes my self-confidence. I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about a year and it was working…but I feel the depression coming back. I don’t want to just keep upping the dosage (went from 150 -> 200). I’m not too sure what to do and therapy is something I can’t afford right now with my recent rent increase. Any thoughts or advice?

These recent lay offs have sent me into a tailspin of anxiety. I wake up in the middle of the night panicking. It was so sudden and absolutely blind sighting. The realization that no one is safe is terrifying. Anyone feel this way?

I hate it when people try to bond with me over trauma when their trauma is that they fight a lot with their spouse or they didn’t get the promotion they wanted. How is that staring death in the face??
