Focus on Big 4 firms for now and then look to move around after some years.

This. Went to a large state uni in the US. Did boutique consulting for several years and developed deep functional expertise. Went to Big A for several years. Moving onto McK next month.

My wife went to Essex for a Master’s and ended up joining McK later on as an experienced hire. It is really about role fit and your expertise. If you become a “go to” person on a specific topic (e.g., due diligences, cybersecurity strategy, etc) you have a stronger chance of coming into MBB than as a generalist.

I had nothing to do with it - completely different part of the Firm

They go to Oxbridge.

Yeah you don’t from uni of Essex.

Then the data says that you should’ve went to a worse university or a better university.

If your goal is to be as high ranking of an in house counsel position as possible, how would you structure your career progression? Is it better to stay in big law as long as possible and then transition as a partner, or is it more valuable to get relevant experience by going in house as a mid level/senior associate? Practice area is IP: working in patent pros, litigation, and tech transactional to varying degrees if that affects the answer.

Yesterday my people lead told that there is no variable pay for me as my previous people lead put negative remarks on portal. Here in the screenshot as you can see yearly bonus on November is zero. But there is a monthly bonus amount. What is that monthly bonus and when shall I get it?

I have my last day at employer A right before thanksgiving and will be covered on their health insurance through 11/30. So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Hello,

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?
