I have an opportunity to go from a director role to a principal product manager. Essentially the highest role within my company within the product org. I would be jumping two levels however, the product is internal risk is not something I’m really bullish about. I would also get more pay.

In my current role although I’m operating a principal product manager, it doesn’t seem like they wanna move me up.

Has anybody dealt with this within their career? What’s the right move?

I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this?
