Breastfeeding & Production Tips For Those On Set During Advertising Productions

Check out companies like Milk Stork and read your agency’s employee handbook. Strangely one of my past jobs covered the price of shipping breast milk back when on work-related trips.
Buy some formula and have your spouse or caregiver start feeding that once in a while. Freeze what you can. It’ll be fine.
Find some Facebook new mom groups there are always mommas willing to share (if you are ok with that) or you can buy from a milk bank - you can take breast milk through tsa no problem just look into the rules. You may have to dump some but it’s a small price if it’s really what you want to do. My sister had a 10-day trip to china and had to do the same but she said it all worked out. Good luck!!
I have used the milk stork before. It’s really expensive but my agency covered the costs. Doesn’t hurt to ask. Very important is to be able to freeze the milk. Normal room fridges don’t have freezing capabilities and you may need to store in the hotel’s kitchen freezer which is the somewhat shady part. The London in LA had the weirdest freezer room but milk was fine. Sunset Marquis was solid too. The worst was a hotel called Le Petit Hermitage. They took the milk and 3 days later when I retrieved it, it wasn’t frozen. They had kept in normal fridge. I can say it was one of my worst moments post baby. Literally wanted to kill everyone there!
But above all, I really enjoyed going on those shoots. It made me feel like I was back in the game and a badass superhuman mom creative. Having your own bed, room service and some me time won’t hurt either.
Start pumping now after your first morning feed when your supply is the highest during the day. If you can fit in a couple of extra pumping sessions on the weekends that will help to build up your stash some as well.
I also have used Milk Stork which was paid for by my company - I did two large boxes, one shipped back mid-trip and the last one the evening before I left. Whatever you have to bring through TSA only put 3oz in the bag or bottle and they will be less annoying about checking it. Some agents will just pass it through while others will check every bag/bottle.
Assuming she’s eating solids now too, ask your pediatrician about recommends bc baby may be drinking less in general . Lots of places to source milk. You could overnight some of your with cold packs too (depending f on your location)
