When I moved to Houston I just got on Grindr and would find people to go out to the bars with and then would meet their friends while out and then basically hopped around friend groups until I found one I liked.
I was actually thinking of trying to move to seattle from LA. Any advice on meeting queer friends in Seattle @SAE?
I have lived half my adult life in Seattle and I recommend it highly. If you go to clubs, hit The Cuff or Neighbors and you will meet a lot of people. Just shopping on Capital Hill you will make friends, everyone is really friendly.
Join a league, pool/billiards leagues are the best IMO for socializing because often times they’re at a bar or pool hall in late afternoons and best atmosphere to socialize. I’ve joined other sports leagues and making friends is hit or miss depending on the group.
👋 San Diegan here
There's a vibrant queer community in the Uptown area (neighborhoods around Balboa Park). Any social activity, even if not specifically queer, could land you some new gay friends
I'm sure someone will disagree, but don't live downtown. Too many people try that when they move here and then migrate elsewhere else after a year
In the past I was a big fan of meetup groups. I’m not sure how those have been impacted due to the pandemic but that’s how I found my group of queer friends after I moved to a brand new city where I didn’t know anyone. I specifically searched for LGBTQ+ meetup groups that focused on things I found interesting and it worked really well for me.
I have heard that the gay court in San Diego is a good group of friendly people. Do not know first hand. https://www.imperialcourtsandiego.com/
