I have been temping in an office a couple times over the last few weeks. They hours are inconsistent with what they post which it is what it is. But….i was supposed to be paid on this last Thursday for three days I worked in the pay period and the check “accidentally got deposited to someone else” and I am now told I have to wait til the next pay period to be paid for those hours. The accounting/payroll company will charge to cut one check. I’m supposed to work again 11/7. How is this ok!?

They need to pay the fee to have your cheque written. I'd let them know that your bills cannot wait until next pay period and politely request your pay ASAP. If they wont pay then cancel your next shift.

Are there temp agencies where you reside. I'm in PA and that's how a lot dental professionals temp.

Yes I am temping. I actually left this job now because it got weird after I was covering for the maternity leave

I've been a dental assistant for 11 years , and I think I'm done . I feel the pay is never enough and 9/10 we do the most work in the office . It's never commensurate to what we do and no matter how much experience you have your still 3-5$ more than someone fresh out of school . It's a skill I'm glad to know that I can always find work but the burnout for nothing isn't worth it. Can anyone relate

I want to go back to work in the dental field. I was an assistant for 10+ years. I miss helping people smile. But trying to find work that I can do within school hours is so hard! Has anyone found anything that is legit work from home? Either remote treatment plan presenting or helping with scheduling? I really need something from home because my husband travels so much. I’m located outside of Chicago if that helps.

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. As my career progressed as a RDA, I moved to the front office and eventually management. I even taught dental assistants and became the Program Director of a DA program. COVID opened up remote work for me, I manage eclaims, claims corrections and billing for two offices. $20 per hour, no bonuses or incentives, I know I am not getting paid enough! Any input would be appreciated.
