I have corporate strategy experience at tech firm. I’ve been unemployed for 9+ months. I have not been able to get a job because I don’t have MBB experience. Recruiters tell me they have better candidates. When I make it to interviews, I know 25% of the time I’m cracking under pressure but the rest I feel I’m not a fit. I want to get out of strategy. It’s very competitive and it’s not a skill in demand especially in this economy. What can I move to? I’m willing to learn anything.

I have a seriously hard time working all day. I went straight through, so part of it is probably just that I've never worked in an office before, but I have the hardest time getting in all my hours. Anyone else deal with that fatigue? Or figured out how to conquer it?

Can someone just explain how you plan out how much to bill so you can make sure it’s not a mad scramble at the end of year? I’m moving from a firm where I was lacking in any kind of mentorship. No one ever just sat down and explained the most efficient way to track/measure your hours to confirm that you are on track.

Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work.
