TikTok to Google anyone made the switch before in sales/partnership? I like the challenge of working for the underdog, but there’s tons of things that can be improved too which a mature company would have e.g more established internal processes, clear ways of working etc. seeking advice from anyone who made the move, cheers!
Rather than getting a piece of paper - focus on learning an in demand software tool like power bi or tableau or alteryx
Any chance you know how to access to these? I'm at midtier and the firm isn't paying for licenses for everyone so I don't have direct access to alteryx or power bi unfortunately
I know someone whose a cfp who wish they had a cpa. Essentially with a cfp you can do all tax planning, but still need a cpa to sign the return. Having both could help you bundle services if you’re with a smaller firm.
Thank you 😊 for the input! This is helpful for a decision to make.
I’d also add that unless you have a serious interest in specializing in individual tax work, it will be completely useless. Don’t do it if you do and want to continue to do corporate tax work.
What are your long term goals? Try to think where do you want to be 5-10 years from now and see what you need to get there. You can do this by looking up individuals that you admire and aspire to be one day and see what they did to get there. Just getting certifications for the sake of adding letters after your name is not the best strategy to undertake.
My dream is to be a COO or a CEO and I knew that in order to get there I need to pivot into strategy and operations. And going back to school was the way to get there. I get excited about the idea of solving problems that have the potential of helping organizations and people by building relationships with customers, employees, vendors, suppliers, etc. I like thinking about the next product that a company should launch, or the next market that a company should enter, etc. I Hope to get into strategy consulting and then go from there. Happy to chat some more of you want. Feel free to DM me.
Not if you’re in audit. Honestly, not even if in tax unless you want to have your own firm and do financial planning on the side or something to that end.
I would like to know as well, tax side.
What about CISA or an internal audit certificate for audit peeps
Don’t know. Someone else will have to chime in as I only really know the tax side.
