I have final rounds with the Chief Legal Officer. I’ve already met with multiple people in previous rounds, including the hiring manager and GC. What should I expect for this interview with the CLO? Any strategies?

Varies wildly. My first IHC the last interview was basically a vibe check. My second it was a legit interview, and the least “vibey” of all. I think it depends on the personality of the interviewer more than anything. Prep like the hardest version. And see if you can find any online videos of the interviewer on panels/speaking publicly, to get a sense of their style.

Easy there chief

Wow, I thought this was my post because I posted almost the identical pist the other day! Good luck to us both!

That the last round is just if they like you 😂 I have some good questions (well hope they are good!) to ask and hopefully I can find an opening to talk about something I do in my personal life that goes along their mission as well (hopefully it's a good think to talk about). It's nerve racking knowing there are several others doing it too, so we just have to be better and apparently, personable 😊

make sure bring them cookies

Make clear you understand the real role- mitigate risk to acceptable levels; not “the department of No”

Have you had your final round interview yet? Updates?

Thanks! It was similar to previous rounds but feeling prepared definitely helped with confidence. You’ve got this!

If you practice collections in-house, what do you earn and do you receive a bonus?

I have practiced for five years and make $121k as an employee of a financial services company. As the only attorney, I oversee all statewide collections efforts, from demand letter to garnishment, with a case volume of nearly 7k new cases per year, of which the majority I end up litigating. I receive only a $1k bonus per year. Is my compensation fair? My last insurance defense gig was $75k.

I’m in big law and on the cusp of making the jump to in-house. It sounds like the company I just interviewed with is getting ready to make me an offer. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? I’m so burnt out by big law and this seems like an awesome opportunity to help shape a newish company. Any tips on how to figure out if this is the right move for me?

Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Considering a move in-house to NBC Universal in any litigation role (though I’d really go to wherever there is a need, whether litigation or business affairs generally). Coming from 4th year law firm litigation experience in a variety of areas but mostly data breach, e-discovery, breach of K. Do I apply with an employee referral or via LinkedIn recruiter that reached out? Alternatively, if anyone has experience applying/at NBCU, I’d so appreciate general advice :) TIA.
