I have four years of transactional experience in local government and make 100,000. There might be layoffs soon and I think that I'm not very competitive. Any thoughts? Is my experience too specific?

Tell me about it

Local government is excellent experience for any practice. You can tout your experience in many different fields. Also, there are firms that do public finance, who would see the connection and connections with local government as a plus.

I accepted an offer to work at an Am Law 100 firm in June. I just graduated law school in May. They offered a stipend and reimbursement for bar expenses. I am currently still waiting for any word on when the money will come. They have not started onboarding me or anything. Should I be concerned? Why are they dragging their feet? I have contacted them 3 times since June.

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion.
