I have had to remind myself lately that I am not weak and l am definitely not lazy. The burnout I'm feeling right now is just the result of trying to manage so many unknowns in my work and my life. It's frustrating that we're so often taught to see this as a personal failure instead of a systemic Issue. Can you relate?

I know it sounds kind of paradoxical, but I feel like people who are actually weak and lazy never really get burnt out. They just coast through life and don't really care. It's only the people who work hard and are extremely capable who end up experiencing tons of burnout.

Thanks for the response

I can absolutely relate to that! I am so burned out that I just don't care about anything work related. And then I do start beating myself up and feeling like I am just lazy rather than just being burned out in a terrible work environment.

What are you doing to get out of this cycle?

Hi fishes,

I am a strategy consulting enthusiast from a middle class family. Don't have the financial stability to take a loan for an MBA and hence had to drop some renouned admits this year (Think top IIM's) due to family circumstances. I still dream big and request you to provide some insights for my research:-
1) Average expected package of an associate
2) Average experience expected at ZS to get hired at associate (not BCN)
3) Good books to upskill and ace the consulting case interviews

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

Wavering between tired and happy. Finally getting my stamina back post covid. I've walked 10 miles in the past week. Pre covid I was walking between 2 and 4 miles a day. But I can tell I'm still not 100 percent. I'm so tired in the evenings. Hopefully that will fade the next couple of weeks.
