I have two coworkers on my team who can’t stand each other, and now I'm roped into being the go-between. They won’t talk directly so everything funnels through me. It’s exhausting and honestly not my job, but if I step back, the work stalls. Would you keep playing middleman or let the conflict play out? Would it be my fault if it affected the work?

Let conflict play out. Who is asking you to mediate? Don’t you have a job to do other than playing middleman

It sounds like you're the peer, have you specifically said to both parties, I have no idea and do not care what your issue is with X. But you need to find a way to dire try communicate with them. Being your conduit is not my job and has started in impact my ability to do my job. If you don't figure it out, I will have to discuss this with the project lead. If that doesn't resolve it, or you aren't brave enough/ fear the fallout, go directly to your manager.

On the other hand I have saved so much money over the past year, spent a lot more time with family than I would have ever been able to, and actually rested and been able to focus on my wellness (started therapy and treatment for a chronic condition.)

Wife and I are stuck - we’re suppose to head to the UK in two weeks but have a feeling they might go back under restrictions / with so many cases we will likely catch covid and be there for extra time (test required to get back into the US) which wouldn’t be ideal so we’re brainstorming alternatives. What are your favorite places to visit within the US? For context we live in the South East so preferably somewhere besides here 😀
