There are some minor things like cutting down on travel, but biggest one imo is putting your team in a position to deliver efficiently, which includes crystal-clear scoping. If you can finish an engagement early or allow yourself to reduce staffing, that’s a much more substantial profitability (this is assuming fixed price model, which seems somewhat standard, esp in strategy, but not ubiquitous). In terms of increasing value, the best way to do that is to agree on a scope that’s both realistic for you and highly valuable for the client and then find the right answers - not much more to it I think

I hear you that this seems to be the case.
Yeah we are eating lots of hours and saying YES to anything the client asks. This is going to get real bad real soon.
