There’s a lot of variable to this.
First before you feel bad, self assess yourself and this is a moment of self reflection, did you perform or contribute to your duties to merit a promotion?
Did you communicate effectively to your bosses about your career progression and aspirations?
Did you create visibility and touch base at least quarterly with your boss on your goals and keep track of your accountability and accomplishments?
Lastly, are you in the right fit for you. This include financial goals, career progression, satisfaction of work life balance.
Not only will all these help in my opinion but it would guide your decisions in the future.

I feel the same way at times. I try to remind myself that evryone moves at a different pace and people get recognized differently in different company and teams.

I’ll DM you but my advice is take some time to wallow (I give myself max 48 hours) and then I use that sadness/anger as fuel for my next steps. Talk to your boss, get clear success metrics, etc
I've been passed over numerous times for promotions. It really did affect my self-esteem but then I just tried to put it in perspective. I know my worth and I know my value. I may not rise up as quick as others, but I have a great life with so many blessings. My job is good but it's not my everything in life.
Yes, I’ve been there, very recently. I had been passed up for promotions so many times that I realized I would really never be in consideration to be promoted, and if I was, it’d be a “oh finally, that was overdue!” embarrassing reaction from everyone. People from other departments would regularly come up to me saying “you’re a VP right?” or “wow I could’ve sworn you were a VP already” etc etc.
II got a really good opportunity to join another company at the VP level, getting my own promotion. Don’t stay where you’re not valued.
I would consider seeking other opportunities. First, speak with more senior individuals who have progressed in your field and ask for advice. Maybe there’s action you could take to heighten your profile and position you for the roles you have in mind. Taking on more responsibilities at your current firm typically helps.
