This particular recruiter still owns me a reply about a role she was advertising. A bit hypocritical from her part I think.
As a midlevel cw at a decent ny agency with an average-to-slightly-above-average book, if I email Wieden, they’re not going to respond.
Likewise, if a third-party recruiter emails me about a junior pharma role in Connecticut and mentions a salary less than I’m currently making, I’m not going to respond.
It’s different if you ghost mid convo, but I feel that’s pretty fair for starting a conversation.
Yeah it’s not rude or unfair for initial contact.
Honestly I think it’s a two-way street. Some recruiters do give a shit and probably deal with creatives who ghost or whatever.
Though I obviously think most recruiters are disrespectful and flakey. Hashtagnotallrecruiters
That post was on my feed because it was liked by a recruiter who never replied me. On the other hand, at least Wieden did. Ebbs and flows i guess.
