I just found out that my promotion comes with zero raise because I’m already at the top of the salary band for my level. They essentially told me they can’t move me up, but they can't pay me more to stay where I am. They’re basically forcing me to quit if I want a raise. Has anyone else hit a salary ceiling early in their career, and did you have to switch industries entirely to break through it?

I’ve doing this for a good number of years. I think I depleted almost completely my interest in this business. When I’m out of the office or during the weekends I get into a “leave me alone state” and don’t want to know anything about the office. I actually just want to get in the agency, do the best I can within the time I have available, and get out. In a business where “the most committed wins” this is not an ideal mindset, but I’m done. Anyone else experiencing something similar?
