I keep giving staff more chances to do simple tasks and work on improving his soft and technical skills and he is KILLING ME

Maybe he’s been unmotivated. I would reach out on a personal level and get to know him and try to see if that might shed some light

like

He has a great attitude but seems to have a complete lack of ability to pay attention to detail

Feel like this is me as an associate. Even with guidance I am prone to mistakes. To my senior/seniors reading, I am super appreciative of the guidance, even if I ask multiple times for clarification 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The best thing you can do is have a good attitude and review your work! Also maybe have a post it of steps you should do on each wp before you sign off. (Check against py workpapers, check spelling and grammar, check that all work paper references actually exist, and that remaining questions or follow up items are clearly communicated)

like

So much detailed feedback! none of it applied! I can't ahhhhhh

What simple tasks can he not do and what improvements were you asking from the person? How did you communicate those to him? Does he forget easily? Unmotivated? Just does not care?

I think this is pretty common when people work non accounting jobs. They’ve worked other jobs where quick is what mattered most and so we try to get them to do things timely. You may just need to specifically tell him that you’re finding his stuff looks hurried. When you say soft skills though, do you mean he’s like being weird with clients and stuff? Some people are just weird and it takes a while

Ahaha - well then it sounds like you’re doing a great job I’m glad you have an outlet :)

Buying a house with monthly expense of $4900, although my current rent is only $2350. My total HHI with my husband is about $310K. Should I just suck it up in order to be a homeowner?

I have started a side hustle with two friends. It's Climate Tech related. We have been working with it for the past year as a part-time hustle. We want to take it to the next stage.

My two other friends have a background in consultancy and one of them had a mentor who is really high up at a Big4. He would like to join the start up as a Partner. He seems really experienced and could help raising money, although he does not seem to care about climate change.

Anyone from EY UK could help out that would be great.
I applied to the EY UK Elevate program Audit Senior. My application was rejected and immediately I got another email, confirming my application for Audit Senior - UK wide program.
I logged into my portal and saw that for the Audit Senior - UK wide program it was written "Forwarded as Applicant You have been added as an applicant to this requisition."
Has this ever happened with anyone? Is it a good sign?
