I'd walk right into the restaurants you're interested in working at and ask if the manager is available. That's how I got my job now actually. I brought my resume in my bag, but spoke to the manager first just to casually ask if they were looking for a bartender. Other places said no, but I'd leave my resume with the manager anyway in case anything changed in the future. Even got a call from one of those, but I already accepted another position.

thank you 🙏🏼 i will

Have you tried calling places that are local to you and asking if they are hiring? Sometimes that can be a way to get leads because those roles aren't always advertised somewhwere online. Best of luck to you in the search.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Hi everyone! I’d love to hear your thoughts on EEO surveys during the job application process. Is it more beneficial to self-disclose or refrain from disclosing race, gender, disability, etc?

Which method is more likely to get your application noticed? Any guidance would be helpful on my job hunt. Thank you.

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

So I'm fairly new to the restaurant business; only in like 4 years (only two concepts). Both have been pure chaos that causes so much stress and anxiety. Is this industry wide or am I just unlucky with the 2 concepts I've experienced so far?
