I moved from an MBB in Europe to another consulting firm in Australia, but I’m realising the culture here is far less transparent and much less supportive of people development than what I was used to, it feels quite cut-throat at times.
With a background in strategic consulting, what non-consulting career paths based in Sydney would be worth exploring? What are common exits?

Sorry to hear about your experiences in Aus.

In terms of exits, most consultants go into industry companies (e.g. Big 4 banks, Retail, Aviation etc.), tech (Amazon, DoorDash etc.) or even start ups.

You do get people move into more finance roles (IBs, PE funds etc.) I’m not across them that well.

I’ve been in Consulting for the last 7+ years in Aus and this is just what I’ve seen across peers. Hope that helps.

I echo C1. Industry exits are most common, with a few leaving for PE.

Without knowing which MBB you were with, and which you joined, could it be you don't gel with the new firm? Another option might be to try and rejoin your old firm? I wonder if it's an issue with the new firm, rather than an Aus consulting vs Europe consulting point.

Obviously I'm missing a lot of context here, but figured I'd throw it out there as an idea.

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?

Looking for a used AWD SUV ~$20k price point, what would you recommend? Ideally 2012 or later with under 100k miles. Reliability and low lifetime maintenance costs are number 1 priority. Does it mean they will drop my candidature here and now or do I still have any chance ??
