I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?

Can anyone provide some guidance to taking the CFE? As in which membership option to choose from followed by when exactly can we take the exam, if the entire amount is reimbursed or not? Hey y’all. I went through an exceptionally traumatizing experience a few years ago that has totally & utterly shattered my confidence, self worth, self esteem etc. I have a hard time portraying my work experience + deserving of a new role.

For context, I did well in uni, got into law school but due to finances + the experience in question I didn’t end up going. Kept working in the public sector as a coordinator & now got my scrum master certificate to transfer to SM role in finance/ tech. Help
