​I later discovered that the chief of technology hired a former developer and close friend as a remote, part-time contractor at a triple-digit hourly rate. This individual maintains a separate full-time job and works completely flexible hours, 20-40 hours.
​This feels like blatant cronyism. Is there any recourse?

I m into QA as functional test planner for more than two years and now i m mood to change my role to automation, but after certification in selenium and Tosca my lead was not able to provide me the project based on automation so they are rolling me off from the project. Telling u will get automation project on bench.
Now i m confused what had happened and what to do on bench.

I realized I've been a dummy for getting a job at a creative agency and not working on my portfolio. Most of the projects I've taken on, I've done so as a way to support others without taking much credit for it. Now, a better opportunity came along and I don't have anything to show for my talent as a designer. ALWAYS take credit for what you do, even if it's not your project to begin with.

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

Late 30’s with a couple of kids. Is it worth it for me to seek a CS degree at this time/soonish? I’m not afraid of the extra work, and would go part time.
