In my opinion, life in prison is not enough justice, but we can't do anything to interfere with the system either.
I think that for people who commit this type of crime the easiest thing they can have is a death sentence, I prefer to see them in prison because only time makes you realize things.
For me it is not sentenced enough, these people have strong mental problems, and most of them rarely feel any regret, so having them locked up in jail is only making the person a weight for the country since they must keep them.
The death penalty should be opened again for this type of case throughout the country, everything that is a mass shooting or something related to serial murders must be punished with immediate death, these people know very well what they are doing and basically destroy other lives for pleasure.
I think that a good way to take advantage of the bad things that these people do is to lock them up in jail but in controlled environments and study their behaviors in order to predict future behaviors in other people and thus avoid this type of thing in advance.
I think that jail is fair but you have to be sure that you will never be released again under any circumstances. I am sure that many of the people who commit these crimes are willing to die because it is the easiest for them.
